1. About us

This website, kartacollective.org, is run by Karta Collective Foundation ("Karta", "we", "us"), a not-for-profit company incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN U88900UW2026NPL255094; Section 8 Licence No. 187568). Our registered office is at Cabin No. GF049, 1st Floor, B-128, Sector 2, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201301.

By using this website or making a donation, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Our work

Karta works to improve the livelihoods, income and skills of farming families and rural communities, as set out in our Memorandum of Association. As a Section 8 company, Karta applies its income and surplus towards its objects in accordance with applicable law. No dividend or distribution of profits is made to its members.

3. Donations

  • A donation is a voluntary gift. You receive no goods, services or other benefit in return.
  • Donations are used for Karta's charitable objects. If you ask for your gift to support a specific purpose, we will try to honour that. Where a purpose is fully funded or no longer possible, we will use the donation where it is most needed within our objects.
  • Indian donors only. Karta is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA). We can only accept donations in Indian rupees (INR) from Indian citizens (including NRIs giving from their own savings) and Indian organisations, paid from Indian bank accounts, Indian-issued cards or UPI. We cannot accept donations made with foreign-issued credit or debit cards, or from foreign nationals (including OCI cardholders) or foreign companies or organisations. If we receive such a contribution by mistake, we will return it.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to donate.
  • You can donate by UPI, by bank transfer, or online through Razorpay. Online payments are processed securely through Razorpay, and Razorpay's applicable terms and privacy policy also apply to those payments. Payments made through Razorpay may appear on your bank or card statement under a name that includes "Razorpay" and/or "Karta Collective Foundation". We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password.
  • Please make sure the details you give us are accurate. We may decline or refund any donation that appears fraudulent, unauthorised or in breach of law.

For refunds and cancellations, see our Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy.

4. Donation receipts and tax certificates

Karta Collective Foundation holds provisional approval under section 354 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (formerly section 80G), so donations are eligible for a tax deduction, subject to the conditions of the Act.

  • Approval no. (URN): AANCK0017FF20261, dated 23 August 2026, valid for tax years 2026-27 to 2028-29.
  • Karta is also provisionally registered as a charitable organisation under section 332 of the Act (formerly section 12AB), URN AANCK0017FE20261.
  • To receive a donation receipt and a certificate of donation, please give us your full name, postal address and PAN. PAN is mandatory: without it, we cannot report your donation or issue a certificate of donation.
  • Donation receipt: we email a receipt acknowledging your donation within 15 working days of receiving both your donation and these details. This receipt is an acknowledgement, not the certificate used to claim a tax deduction.
  • Certificate of donation: as the Income-tax rules require, we report eligible donations to the Income Tax Department in Form 113 by 31 May after the end of the tax year. The certificate of donation in Form 114, which you need to claim the deduction, is generated after that filing, and we email it to eligible donors. It is issued once a year, after the tax year closes, not at the time of your donation.
  • Eligibility for a tax deduction depends on the applicable law and your individual circumstances. This information is not tax advice. Please check with your tax adviser how the deduction applies to you.

5. Payment disputes

If you believe a payment was made without your authorisation, or you have a question about a payment processed through Razorpay, please contact us at hello@kartacollective.org with the transaction details. We will investigate and help resolve it. Where applicable, disputes may also be handled under the rules of the relevant bank, payment network, UPI system or payment service provider.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where Karta carries out its operations.
